Howdy! I'm Rileigh for those that don't know me, and here is where y'all can learn a bit about me before diving into the rest of the blog. If you're wondering why I started this post with "howdy," that's because I'm a part of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 24, and we Aggies always say howdy to our friends. Also, we're friends now, so welcome! I'm so glad y'all can join me on this journey as we figure out life and all that comes with it.
If you're wondering why this post is titled "Pilot," I'll gladly explain. For many TV shows, the first episode is titled "Pilot," since it's the takeoff of the show, so I figured "Why not?" and titled my first post as such.
Now for the fun part, more about me so you don't get confused along the way. I am an animal science major at Texas A&M, so don't be surprised when that side comes out in my writing. I love cattle and just about anything Western, hence why I named my blog "The Ballad of Texas Red," in reference to Marty Robbins' song "Big Iron." I'm also a redhead so that's got a bit of influence since my friends call me Texas Red from time to time. I'm a big country music fan, but I like other genres because we're inclusive around here. I've also got other interests so don't be surprised if something seemingly random pops up. When I'm not busy with school or work, I like to hang out with my friends or chill at home with my dog Cash. Don't worry I'll post a picture of him for your viewing pleasure. :)

Anyways, I'm glad y'all are here, and can't wait to see where this thing goes! I've no doubt that it will be fun and it will be real, so by default, it will be, as the kids say, real fun. There are and will be plenty of stories to share so I look forward to sharing my story with the world.
